This Italian restaurant in Port Angeles, Washington has a menu that features specialty pizzas and seafood. It appears in the first novel in the series, Twilight, as "La Bella Italia." In the book, Bella is saved by Edward from some local muggers (or maybe worse!) after she goes astray in her search for a local bookstore. After the rescue, Edward tells Bella's friends that he'll drive her back to Forks, and they decided to get some dinner at Bella Italia. It's Edward and Bella's first date.

Stephenie Meyer herself, the author of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn, recently visited the restaurant, which has added the item that Bella ordered for dinner in the book (mushroom ravioli) to the menu.

Our next destination in Port Angeles, Washington, approximately an hour from Forks, Washington, is the Port Book and News. It has a large inventory of new and used books.

In Stephenie Meyer's novel Twilight, Bella Swan walks from a department store (Gottschalks) to a nearby book store to browse, but decides not to go in because it is too "New Age" looking for her. She gets lost, enters a dark alleyway, and a group of four men begin to follow her. She is saved from being robbed (or worse) by none other than our vampire hero, Edward Cullen. While Port Book and News doesn't fit the exact description of the bookstore mentioned in the book, it is just up the street from the Gottschalks department store and Bella Italia make it the best choice for a standing-in for the bookstore from Twilight.

Forks Twilight Tour: Port Angeles - Gottschalks

Port Angeles, Washington is 56 miles away from Forks, Washington, and if you're visiting from out of town, you might even consider spending the night in Port Angeles for your lodging, as it's the only town of any size at all on the Olympic Peninsula. Additionally, it makes a great jumping-off point for so many other great peninsula excursions (once you're done with your Forks Twilight Tour, of course!)

In Twilight, Bella Swan takes a drive to Port Angeles and shops at this Gottschalks, the only department store this side of Seattle. It's a natural place for Forks residents to go to do some shopping.

ALISHA SAYS:

"We hit the Port Angeles stops on a different day from the Forks stops. But they are so close together, you can do as Bella did, and walk between this one and the bookstore. Frankly, the Port Angeles destinations are the least interesting of the entire tour. But, as purists, we couldn't skip them, could we??"
