A New Dawn for Summit Entertainment

Forbes.com has written an interesting piece on Summit Entertainment, the independent film studio that is responsible for the creation and release of the Twilight movie.

Twilight, which Box Office Mojo said played on 6,000 screens at 3,419 locations, managed to out-gross Summit's five previous releases combined.

Twilight has inspired Buffy?

With the sky-rocketing success of the Twilight movie, rumor has it that a Buffy, the Vampire Slayer movie is now in the works. Aceshowbiz.com reports:

On the reason of bringing up "Buffy" to the big screen, Herald-Sun pointed out on the success of another vampire movie, "Twilight". "The monster success of girly vampire pic Twilight at the U.S. Box office last weekend could kick open the door for a big-screen return of Joss Whedon's much-loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer," wrote the publication.

The original television series of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" follows the story of Buffy Summers, a young woman fated to battle against vampires, demons and other forces of darkness. The series which started its run in 1997 was starred by Sarah Michelle Gellar. The Buffy concept was first unveiled as a movie in 1992 with Kristy Swanson taking the titular role.

New Moon movie to start filming in March

Kristen Stewart has hinted that the New Moon movie will begin filming in March.

Additionally, she talked about the possibility of filming in Italy:

Apart from when the shooting may begin, the 18-year-old also gushed about where some of the filming will take place. "A lot of the book takes place in Italy, and I think we're going to get to go to Italy, which is so cool," she said, adding, "For a while there, they were like, 'oh, we don't know if we have the money', but now I think we may have the money!"
