New Moon to be filmed at Kalama High School?

TDN.com tells us that Chris Weitz toured Kalama High School last week to assess whether it would should be included in the making of New Moon movie. Filming is scheduled to being on the latest movie adaptation from Stephenie Meyer's Twilight book series in late March.

Several producers and director Chris Weitz ­— who didn’t direct the original “Twilight” — visited the school last week, said Kalama Superintendent Jim Sutton. The sequel is called “New Moon,” the title of the second of four novels in the popular series by author Stephenie Meyer.

“The whole point of the trip was to show Chris Weitz all the locations they used up here in the Northwest,” Sutton said.

The visit was short, and moviemakers didn’t commit to filming at the school again, Sutton said. It’s possible they shot enough footage during the filming of “Twilight” last spring to supply the sequel, he noted.

Werewolves are the new hot thing in 2009

USAToday.com says there's a trend in Hollywood for werewolves in 2009, and the movie adaptation of New Moon (due in Nov 2009) will lead the "pack." (Get it?)

New Moon director Chris Weitz says he loves Stephenie Meyer's characterization of werewolves because they are "grounded in reality."

Meanwhile, he also says that Taylor Lautner, the actor playing the part of New Moon's Jacob, has "has packed on 29 pounds, most of it muscle."
