Address: 500 E Division St, Forks, Washington (click here for map)

Charlie Swan, Bella's dad, is the local law enforcement officer. You might remember he has to investigate suspicious "disappearances" in the area.

ALISHA SAYS:

"The police station is connected to Forks city hall. If you are there on a weekday during regular operating hours, you can go inside to get some stickers. You can also sign a special Twilight guestbook and log your visit for posterity."

Forks Twilight Tour: Forks High School

No trip to Forks would be complete without seeing the spot where Bella and Edward first smelled each other, err, met - Forks High School. Home of the Spartans, this is a real high school, so you won't be allowed to tour the grounds, but don't let that stop you from scanning the parking lot for Bella's truck or Edward's Volvo.

The high school was rumored to be the filming location for many of the school scenes for the movie.

Some souvenirs and apparel also available here.

ALISHA SAYS:

"This cute little hole-in-the-wall of a Visitors Center was bursting at the seams when we stopped by. The folks were very friendly and informative and really set the tone for our fun day in Forks."

They do have an official Forks tour available if you get there at the right time. We're not sure of the schedule, so you might wish to contact the Forks Visitors Center for hours and pricing.

Twilight boosts Forks tourism

By afterthebite · November 16, 2008 · 0 Comments · 613 Views ·

The Peninsula Daily News reports:

The allure of vampire dreams delivered a 48-percent increase in lodging tax revenue for Forks, while “close vacations” because of high gasoline prices fueled tourism elsewhere on the North Olympic Peninsula this summer.

Port Angeles made the most money from lodging tax revenues — $337,598, 2.7 percent over the $328,454 collected during the same period last year — while Port Townsend, afflicted with a cut in ferry runs, was pleased to see only a small drop in revenues — a 0.2 percent decrease to $229,258 from $229,655, said Port Townsend Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Rod Davies.

At the same time, Sequim saw a percentage increase in lodging tax revenues second only to Forks, collecting $115,962, a 15.7 percent increase over last year’s figure of $100,163 during the same time period, an indication of interest in the town as a retirement community, said Vickie Maples, Sequim Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce executive director.
